Will probably try the other difficulties some time, since they apparantly offer a somewhat different experience. Maybe something to do with those four gems that light up but don't do anything when clicking on them?īTW I played on Warrior difficulty. Or maybe there's an alternative route to the spell tome? After all the objective for which you get the fireproof potion as a reward was optional. Also, the last bit seems to be a potential "dead man walking" scenario, if you use the fireproof potion and waste time on killing the burricks instead of nicking the book and return over the lava before the potion wears off. There were places I did't explore there, like the vault and IIRC some doors that were locked. I thought I would have to return to the surface. Great mission, but not for the typical T2 fan since most enemies are undead.īut it was shorter than I had thought, and I finished it in 2:50 hours. And the guardian riding a burrick was brilliant! It seemed they were the only ones that made much impact of some of the Guardians. I liked the new weapons, even though the only arrows I used much were the exploding ones. Puzzlewize it's still on the easier side at least I managed to get through it all without consulting the release thread, where TTLG legend (I assume) Nightwalker guides lower level taffers through the missions. IM also oozes atmosphere, and difficulty was notched up a bit, with enemies that are much more alert and harder to kill. If you really want music for the mood, then use it as music, not sound effects! Also some of the gimmicks were perhaps used too many times (like what happens after you read some books).Ĭompleted Inverted Manse for T2, one of the great classics. The only thing I didn't like about this FM was the use of loud ambient music a couple of places. Yes, there are undeads, and there is a supernatural vibe to the mission. The writing is quite good, and there's some new enemies to fight. Instead many of the guards must be distracted to be able to blackjack them, which I think is more fun. And no bullshit with guards you have to sneak past numerous times, which gets old real quick. Lots of secret stuff to discover, and lots of locked doors for which you must find the keys, but it's a tight design and not too much endless walking even if you have to backtrack quite a bit. This is definitely one of the very best missions I've played so far, and I can't recall playing it before, which is weird, since I was sure I had played all the classic FMs from before 2008. Took me over four hours, and I had to check out the relase thread a couple of times (a bit needlessly, since I would have figured things out if I wasn't afraid of spending my last water arrow or take fire damage from a fireplace). Completed The Mystery Man for Thief Gold.
